Some Italian Pigeons a Swiss Cat and Swan

I don't know why I didn't put these up before; Some photo's from Zurich and Milan in September. Quite excited after filling up another film today which had some more of Switzerland on it... watch this space.
.

Whenever I look at this I think of that Brandy song The Boy Is Mine:

Lady One - I just wanted to let you know he's mine.

Lady Two - Huh..no no, he's mine.

Home Sweet Home

Grudgingly I am back from Zurich, but full of idea's....!
The above images are extracts of a diary that I kept whilst working at Nieves.
Mr.Milk, the charming drug dealer who I watched all day from my excellent vantage point in the shop window.
And I suppose the second is self explanatory... Three letters: OCD.

One Night Stand

I have been dying to work with the 5-man extravaganza that is Crabwolf since they joined thier illustrative forces last year. A couple of weeks ago, mainly because they couldn't do the fiddly bits, I was invited to join them in a 5-hour session of Live Art at the Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch. The first photo is the result of our five hour drunken doodling session, the one below the dry run the night before... Check them out http://www.crabwolf.co.uk/

You may recognise these... Whilst printing the Tee's I managed to squeeze another design on the screen and produced a pile of animal pattern, A3 wrapping paper. Its the last time I use these drawings promise!

Speaking of the T-Shirts, they are now on sale at Boscome Underground:

Something Old, Something New

Another long lost find, I wish I had more time for Illustration at the moment!

Hello Bloggers, sorry for the recent lack of Activity. In the last few weeks I have graduated, moved house and gained an additional two jobs. Busy times.
These Collages were part of my re-scripting phase (read below) I found them buried in a pile of stuff whilst moving.

Thursday, 21 May 2009

On Wednesdays Ishihara Exhibition I exhibited these photographs, I'm so happy to have finally done it, Its been on the to-do list for a while. Last year me and my friend LJ went dump hunting and I came across these in a skip, I figured they must have belonged to someone who had died. A big brown envelope with the a life times collection of photographs, memories and experiences, about to be thrown away.

Recent investigation into the depths of our family PC lead to the photographic discovery of Big Bear, a one off spectactular! A little parakeet comes out of his pocket, and the unicorn is attached by poppers. Especially made for my cousin Jase.

Look who I found!

I went home for a couple of days and found these little ones, I think I made about 30 in 2nd year, quite tempted to start up the pocket friends again, so cute!

Birds having a shower and Badger eating a Double Decker

So excited about this! Had the best day of bargain hunting last week in Boscome; me and De were invited to take a look at a garage sale by three properly Irish geezers. De got some beautiful serving spoons, I picked up a slide viewer and some really stunning images for 3 quid, amazing.

The illustrations are all taken from components of an interactive collage I'm currently making for a Final piece and, hopefully, exhibiting in a few weeks time, not long to go...

These cuties are also for the EMP, nothing I do at the minute isn't really, the concept is tying together the theories of the Nature vs Nurture debate and Child psychology. sounds complicated, bear with me;
The project is about Influence, I'm arguing that upbringing (our parent's influence) molds us into who we are rather than our genes, the animals are a metaphor for this, for example a stray cat and a domestic cat, both the same animal but with very different personalities due to their 'upbringing'. Sorted - essentially means I get to draw lots of animals.

Animals

Ladies

Last month I went through a phase of 're-scripting' images, taking something old and modernising it, this collage is partially made from a photo taken in the 50's which I found in a skip.

Pigeons

This lot were drawn for last months 'I heart Bournemouth' Chien Schuanz Fanzine. Me and my manfriend Dan have been making the 'zines since January and are on our third Edition, unfortunately its on the back burner for the last month of EMP.
I began my last project by reading about child psychology, the book They F**k You Up by Oliver James is amazing, he argues some rather good points about the effect of upbringing vs genes, which is what my final major project is all about.
